EVENT VENUE

The competitions will take place in the Vologda region on the north-west of Russia, 400 km from Moscow. Vologda is a big railway and motor transport center. There is an international airport Cherepovetz, 60 km from Event Centre, local airport Vologda.

EVENT CENTRE

The event center (EC) and accommodations will be in "Novyi Istochnik" resort 20 km from Vologda.

THE TEAM'S SIZE

The WC competitions will be organised according to IOF Competition Rules Each federation may enter up to 6 women and 6 men in each individual competition. Each federation may enter up to 2 women's and 2 men's team, each consisting of 3 competitors, in each relay competition. If a federation is unable to make up fully teams, it may form incomplete teams or teams with competitors from other federations (the result of these teams shall not appear in the official results list). The EOC will be organized in parallel with WC. Each federation may enter up to 6 men and 6 women. The YOUNG EOC will be organized in parallel with WC as an individual compertitions only, all the competitors 23 years old or less can participate All the participating countries can entry one extra man and woman to participate in The YOUNG EOC only. They will start before the WC and EOC. 2 flags & himn.

TERRAIN

Valdai Hills, 100-170m. High above the see level, covered mostly with coniferous woods. The competition's place is the valley of a beautiful river. Many panth and roads. Visibility is usually good.

CLIMATE

The middle of March shows mostly stable snow cover, an average temperature of this time period is about minus 3-5 Centigrade. ECOLOGY. Water, soil and atmosphere are free of dangerous pollution, all the State Ecology certificates are available if required.

Long Distance Scale 1/15000 5 meters contour interval; Sprint, Relay and Short Distance Scale 1/10000 5 meters contour interval.

COMPETITION AREA

Competition area of the sprint event is near the Event Centre, all the other days is 12 km from the Center. Ceremonies - in the center of Vologda Town.

MODEL EVENT

For the Model Event for Short and Long events two maps of the training area right around Event Center will be avalable, one in scale 1/10000 and the other 1/15000, similar to the competition maps.

Standart A 1-bed room in Event Centre (fool board).
Standart B 2-bed room in Event Centre (fool board).

ENTRIES

Preliminary entry.
Latest day for preliminary numbers of competitors, team leaders and visitors is 15 January 2000.
Final entry.
Latest day for exact numbers and names of competitors, team leaders and visitors is 1 March 2001.

ENTRY FEE

Entry fee for Standart A (encl. accommodations, transport from EC during competition and Ceremonies, banquet) USD 365.
Entry fee for Standart B (encl. accommodations transport from EC during competition and Ceremonies, banquet) USD 290.

PAYMENT OF ENTRE FEES
