Dear O-friends,
We would like to take a chance to apologise for a certain delay with delivering information regarding the upcoming 2007 World Ski Orienteering Championships in Russia. This is to confirm that the updated information will be on timely basis posted at the Championships official web site: http://wsoc2007.ru.
As you probably know the Russian city of Sochi is the 2014 Olympic Candidate city. Hosting the 2014 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games in Sochi would be an honour for the entire country. The International Olympic Committee is considering ski orienteering for inclusion in the Olympics with the review of the programme for the 2014 winter games. Taking these facts into consideration and provided with the support of the Moscow region Government and Russian Federation Government the 2007 Ski WOC Organizing Committee is making efforts to stage such an event that will promote Ski Orienteering as a sport worthy of inclusion into the program of Olympic Games. Please feel free to address us directly in case you feel certain steps could be undertaken to increase the number of your team members or attract more participating national Federations.
We are looking forward to meeting you at the 2007 World Ski Orienteering Championships in Russia.
ROF President, Yury Nikonov
